I thought about this when it comes to people. Some of us are so focused on a specific goal — say gaining admission to a top college or achieving a specific financial goal — that we are blind to the other important needs in our lives. No matter how much a loved one may try to pull us away, we remain doggedly focused on that one goal. Sometimes there’s also a barrier between us and our loved ones.
