While I see that was true for you whenever you took the screenshot, I just now checked my stats on a story of mine that is less than 3 weeks old. It has had 2.9K views (quite high for me) but only $1.49 in earnings. Pretty discouraging. Glad I am not trying to make a living on Medium!
